“Haven’t you heard? We’re the city God forgot.”
What do you have faith in? A hopeful piece about perseverance and coming together.
The kids of Utica, New York spend their summer waiting on the curb for something exciting to come. After the new kid receives an inexplicable message from God, it is up to them to travel to the holy land and find Him. Although they come from different ideologies, they must learn to rely on each other in order to journey out and fulfill their goal. Children’s Crusade explores childhood, healing, religion, and discovering for yourself who you’d like to be.
Children’s Crusade was developed and originally produced by The Hundredth Hill as part of The Hundredth Hill Emerging Theatre Artist Residency 2020. Children’s Crusade was further produced by Scott Huffman, CC Company, Jessica Kantorowitz, CC Company, and Jamie Schapiro, Executive Witches.
